Lighting

Lighting
Oil on board
8 x 8 in (20x20cm)
I'm away on holiday in Scotland and the weather has been rather stormy, so painting on location, unless it's looking out of the window, has been out of the question. One evening, lying in bed, the wall lighting caught my eye. I loved the glow of it against the white walls and decided that would make a fun painting to do on a grey and rainy day. It took me about 3 hours, which led me to think that maybe I could and should do more daily paintings like this. I didn't overthink it and the immediacy of the composition and the brushstrokes I felt were the most important part of the painting.
